When Meg Ryan did her famous fake orgasm in the movie “When Harry Met Sally”, multiple orgasms were suddenly thrust into an unsuspecting public. In the 90’s “Sex and the City” took orgasms out of the bedroom brought them into everyday conversation. Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha gave us the impression that multiple orgasms for women should be common and natural. Many theories have been given on why women enjoy multiple orgasms, some say it just lasts longer and come in burst; it is therefore not really multiple but just more extended than male orgasm. This topic has now spawned an industry of books, products, videos, and sessions dedicated to educating men and women on how to give and achieve multiple orgasms.
Multiple orgasms for women however may vary; for some multiple orgasms are usually the result of self stimulation rather than sex. For men, orgasm normally just means ejaculation. After ejaculation men are generally done and replete. Their female partners who may or may not have yet reached orgasm at that point will most likely no longer experience additional orgasms. This phenomenon has been dished out in so many talk shows, TV shows and in books, it is now no surprise then that there are actually websites, products, books and sessions all aimed at giving men their version of multiple or extended orgasms.
