Recent studies show that whey protein may benefit both the body and mind. This is opposed to the common impression that whey protein and whey products are only advantageous to bodybuilders and other health buffs. What is also uncommonly known is that whey has been used as a medicinal food as far back as the time of Hippocrates.
Researchers found lowered stress levels in study participants who regularly consumed whey protein powder. They also found out that whey help improve cognitive performance even under stress. A significant improvement in memory was also observed in stress-vulnerable subjects. The findings show that people prone to stress may benefit most from the use of whey protein.
