The Best Way to Install a Grab Bar

Slipping in the shower is one of the most common accidents that can happen inside the house. Sometimes people don’t expect that to happen to them and step into the shower without caution. This can be very dangerous; a person can hit his head on the tile floor and lose consciousness. For safety precautions, solidly anchored shower grab bars are installed in strategic places to provide extra security and balance when taking that first slippery step.
There are three ways to install a shower grab bar – horizontal, vertical, and angled. Horizontal grab bars are the most effective when preventing someone from falling. Scientific testing showed that a human hand cannot maintain a firm grip on a vertical bar because the force of falling will cause the hand to slide down the bar. This makes horizontal bars the safest choice, as it is the only grab bar that can reasonably stop a fall.
