The bathroom is one of the most hazardous places for normal people. It is much more so for the handicapped. Some of the potential dangers are wet surfaces and electrical connections. The very young and the elderly are in the same predicament as the handicapped. They need special equipment and configuration in the bathroom to make the space more accessible.
The elderly and the handicapped cherish their independence. Make this possible by providing them with the tools to be able to do personal chores without assistance. Taking a shower can be difficult but it can be made easy with a shower bench on which they can seat while taking a bath. Some shower benches are built into the bath. When this is not available, shower chairs can be bought to fit the shower room or tub.
