How to Install a Grab Bar

These safety devices are meant to keep a person’s balance. Grab bars are common in the bathroom but they are also used by the stairs or bed. Grab bars come in all sorts of designs and sizes. You will not have a problem choosing one for your bathroom. You can find one that will fit your bathroom design whether it is the institutional look or more elaborate styles.
Once you have made your choice, your next problem will be how to install it. Grab bars are fairly easy to install but first you have to determine the best position. Experts suggest that grab bars installed horizontally or on a 45-degree angle provide the best support for a person trying to get out of a bathtub or shower. It should be placed between 33 and 35 inches above the floor of the tub or shower. It should also be positioned close to the shower control to be useful when making water temperature adjustments.
