Aromatherapy is never complete without the use of essential oils. However, there are things that need to be observed when using essential oils. For one, concentrated essential oils are too strong thus it should not be applied directly on the skin. This is where carrier oils are used when thinning essential oils to make it suitable for use in the skin through massage.
Essential oils have also been known to treat various ailments. Its antibiotic properties and hormones serve as curative properties that help in improving a body’s condition. There are two ways in which essential oils work; physically – through the skin by mixing the oils for massage, foot baths or steam inhalation; and psychologically – by way of the body’s sense of smell on the central nervous system by vaporizers or smelling of the oils.
