Hula hooping is good low-intensity workout. With this, you can already burn approximately 200 calories if you work out for 30 minutes. Of course, the results will vary according to your current weight. Heavier people burn more calories during any exercise because it will take them more work to move around.
Many hoop exercises use special heavy weight hula hoops to increase the cardio workout and burn more calories. One of the benefits of hooping is that it can be done more easily by overweight people than a high intensity exercise like aerobics. The latter puts too much strain on your knees and ankles and may result to running out of breath long before the class is over. Hooping is much easier and more fun to do.
