Just like abdominal workouts, core exercise programs are important in any fitness program. Good core workouts require more than just abs exercises. The “core” actually consists of many different muscles that stabilize the spine and pelvis and run the entire length of the torso. These muscles stabilize the spine, pelvis and shoulder and provide a solid foundation for movement in the extremities. A strong core will distribute weight away from the back.
Back pain is a common occurrence. It can be caused by different reasons. It could be a sprain in the muscles of the back. It could be caused by injury to part of the spinal column that attaches to the pelvis. It may also be due to physical causes such as osteoarthritis or degeneration of the discs. Whatever the cause, it has something to do the core muscles. Strengthen it while you are young and it will take some time before you experience back pain.
