Being prepared for any looming catastrophe doesn’t only mean having an emergency flashlight and some food and water. A lot of people still don’t realize that they need complete disaster first aid kits and rations to survive. These will enable you to respond immediately to companions who may get hurt and provide for all your needs while waiting for rescue.
Depending on your location and circumstances, you may even need a camping toilet, some search and rescue supplies as well as shelter and sleeping items. Water and food are very important. A normally active person will require at least one to two quarts of water and will need a 2400 calorie ration bar per day. For children, half of these amounts will suffice.
