Rosewater, or rose hydrosol, was used in ancient times for religious ceremonies. It was also presented to important guests to promote spiritual, emotional, and physical healing.
Today, rosewater is an important ingredient in many beauty products for women. It is used as a skin beautifier, because it is said to stimulate skin and heighten blood flow. It also controls the production of oils or sebum, so it is very beneficial for oily skin in order to prevent breakouts. Relieving dry and itchy throats, rosewater is also said to treat throat infections. Much research is still being done on the benefits of rosewater. Findings show that a teaspoon of this solution is also effective against stress.
