The process of removing unwanted hair from the body is a concern of both women and men. Women are generally most concerned with removing hair from the eyebrows, armpits, legs, and bikini area while men mostly concentrate on hair removal from the face, chest and back. There are different processes employed to achieve this. For a long time this can only be done by plucking and shaving. Plucking is usually used on the armpits and the eyebrows. It is an inexpensive way of removing hair; all you need are tweezers. It can however be painful. Shaving can give immediate results but extreme care should be taken as razors should be really sharp to give a close shave.
More modern body hair removal techniques have been developed. Electrolysis is a form of permanent hair removal that uses electricity. It is performed by a qualified practitioner who inserts a fine metal probe into the hair follicle and by delivering electric current destroys the area that generates the hair. There are also oral medications and creams that are applied to either inhibit growth or dissolve hair. Care should be taken when using these products as they can cause skin irritations. Another form of hair removal that is fairly popular is waxing. In this method, a layer of wax is applied to the skin and is quickly removed by using a strip of cloth or paper. This not only pulls hairs out by their roots, it also removes dead skin.
