Everyday, we encounter a lot of dirt and impurities in the air we breathe. Even at home, we are exposed to various pollutants, some of which can damage the lungs. Among the many types of air purification systems today are HEPA air purifiers. HEPA means High Efficiency Particle Arrestor.
It was developed during the second World War to remove radioactive dust from inside government laboratories. HEPA filters are 99.99% effective at trapping particles .3 microns or larger. Some HEPA filters are electrically charged to trap and destroy bacteria, viruses and molds in the process.
