This term refers to any healing practice that does not fall within the realm of conventional medicine. Alternative health medicine encompasses therapies with historical or cultural, rather than scientific basis. Examples of these are naturopathy, herbalism, traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, and many more. Naturopathy is a system of natural medicine which focuses on the importance of our lifestyle: fresh air, exercise, sunshine, wholesome diet, pure water, healthy environment, rest and emotional balance. Traditional Chinese medicine is a broad classification that can include herbalism, acupuncture, massage and nutrition.
Naturopathy follows the basic principles that focus on the human body. The four basic principles of naturopathy are: ~Every patient is unique ~Everybody has the power to heal himself ~To overcome any disease (disease) we must treat the causes not just the symptoms ~The whole of a person must be treated NOT just a part.
