Diabetes is a medical condition that causes the blood sugar level of a person to rise than what is normal. The pancreas secretes a hormone called insulin to keep the sugar level in the normal range. When the body either does not make enough insulin or the produced insulin is not properly used by the body, diabetes takes place.
Patients diagnosed with this disease must be aware of all the facts about diabetes to help manage it properly. Aside from knowing what to eat and how to exercise, one has to learn too about other precautions and the other problems created by diabetes such as heart disease, amputation, blindness, and kidney failure.
