automated external defibrillators

In the US, about 900 people die due to sudden cardiac arrest everyday. Most of them never get to the hospital or were declared expired when medical help arrives. This is why automated external defibrillators have been made available in offices, schools and other establishments. These are designed for ordinary men to use. They give accurate analysis of the heart rhythm and apply electric shock should there be a need to regularize this rhythm.

Automated external defibrillators are available in two kinds: semi automatic and fully automatic. Semi-automatic defibrillators are typically used by medical or trained professionals. They have the capabilities to override the rhythm analysis and provide higher degree of care. On the other hand, fully automatic defibrillators are simpler to operate with few buttons and just one to apply the shock. Unlike the semi automatic where expert medical inputs are needed, fully automatic wouldn’t require any from the user.
