Diabetes is a disease where the body does not have enough insulin to convert glucose into energy. Glucose then builds up in the blood, which can lead to serious health issues like heart disease and kidney failure. But all this can be prevented. It is important to know about diabetes nutrition if you want to control your blood sugar level.
Carbohydrates, such as fresh vegetables, fruits, starchy and dairy foods, should always be included in your diet. Protein sources like poultry, meat, fish and some vegetables are also good, but it is best to eat fish and poultry more and remove extra fat from the meat. Sugar, fried food, egg yolks, and high-fat dairy products should be avoided. These are basic dietary recommendations. It is always best to visit your doctor or dietician for a more detailed dietary plan.
