Athletes need to practice proper nutrition and diet as these two impact athletic performance greatly. Sports nutrition is concerned with the kinds and amount of liquids and food taken by athletes. It deals with nutrients like vitamins, minerals, supplements and organic substances such as sugars, carbohydrates, and proteins.
Sports nutrition is an important part of many sports training regimens. It is most particularly used in strength sports like weight lifting and bodybuilding, and endurance sports like cycling, running and triathlon.
