Sometimes we work our body to the point of exertion. This is not advisable because this can just lead to muscle and joint pain.
For muscle pain relief, one is advised to rest the muscle and avoid working up the muscle again until the pain has not subsided. Cold compresses work well for some, whereas a hot compress generally soothes and relieves muscle pain. There are also some ointments and liniments that provide relief for strained muscles.
