joint pain relief

Having lived with parent who struggle with arthritis, I have witnessed firsthand how difficult it seems for them to do the simplest things. It would for example take them longer to write notes and fill up forms. Their cabinets are stacked with medicines aimed at providing joint pain relief. The treatments I have seen that claim to provide relief come usually just come in two forms; creams and drugs. There are also those expensive therapy sessions that they’ve opted to forego for the moment.
I have my own opinion on creams that claim to provide joint pain relief. I have noticed that they work more like pain killers. They offer only temporary relief from pain. The cause of the problem or pain is not addressed. My father for instance has been applying the same cream over and over again for the past several years. I have even tried it a couple of times, it smells funny and heats my skin for a while, and maybe I should try the painkillers next time.
