The nights are getting longer and there’s a chill in the air. It means one thing to me. It’s the season to relive the aches and pains of past injuries. I’ve been an athlete since I was 5. I suffered numerous sprains, pulled and torn hamstrings, tendonitis and a broken back. The best gift I can have during the cold months is pain relief.
I’m not a big fan of drugs to get pain relief. I would rather tough it out. Plus, I’m allergic to most muscle relaxant and pain relief drugs. Also, I’m scared I might overuse and get addicted to pain meds. Rest, icing the injury, massage and acupuncture are the treatments that work best for me. I only take pain meds when I really have to.
