Panic Attack Prevention

I was eavesdropping on a mother talking to her friend about her kid who just goes crazy when he sees a clown. He could be in the mall, in a private party, being carried by his mother, even. When he sees a clown or a mascot he panics and asks to be brought home. It even comes to a point that when he sees balloons, he senses that there might be a clown somewhere. I imagine this actuation as a mild form of panic attack. Mild because I don’t think the child went through a sweating and chest pain phase.
Makes you wonder if there are ways on how to prevent panic attacks. As I continued to eavesdrop I found that since experiencing those incidents, they have politely refused to attend children parties which featured clowns. That can be applied on people who have had attacks before and identified the cause. Just don’t expose yourself to the stimuli. Some patients have learned to keep off substances that contain caffeine or alcohol. They have also tried aerobic exercises and yoga and found some benefit from it.
