If your skin feels tight and looks flaky, you could be harboring dry skin. People with dry skin also have almost unnoticeable pores. They have to deal with more wrinkles than those with oily skin. Dry skin can be a genetic condition with the oil glands not supplying enough lubrication to the skin. Dry skin can also be caused by poor diet or exposure to the elements especially in winter.
Constant moisturizing can help in dry skin care. But there are other things that can be done to fix dry skin. Some of these have to do with how you take your bath or shower. Dermatologists suggest shorter bath time. If possible, avoid hot baths. Cleansing is important but they can be too drying, so opt for milder cleansers. Apply moisturizer immediately after bathing to seal in wetness. It will help to use a humidifier in your bedroom.
