No one can deny that stress is a bi-product of the complex society we are in. Like it or not, we have to go out there and face whatever difficult, convoluted situation we are presented. Too much stress will have negative effects on our health. It is therefore to our advantage to study ourselves and determine what causes us stress and take steps to minimize if not totally eliminate them. I will share some tips on how I manage to eliminate stress.
1. I don’t rely on my memory. Lists run my life. Whether this be groceries to buy, things to do or bills to pay. Funny, I am so addicted to lists that I make lists of my lists.2. I prepare everything that I will need in the morning, the night before. When going out, I hang the clothes I want to wear. I check the contents of my bag, estimate how much money I will need and make sure I have enough. Having enough supply of coins is a great stress reducer.3. I always have a back-up plan. I make duplicates of critical keys in the house and keep them where it is accessible in case I lose my keys.4. I practice preventive maintenance. This applies to the car. It also applies to health insurance.5. I try to create an organized work environment.
