Many people tend to get forgetful when they grow older. Memory, like the muscles, needs to be stimulated constantly. The more you work out your brain, the better you’ll be able to process and remember information. Improve your memory and the ability to retain information by:
*Paying attention – you will only remember something if it is encoded into your brain. So allot about eight seconds of intent focus to process each piece of information you want to store in your mind.*Involving as many senses as possible – relate information to colors, textures, smells and tastes; rewrite information or read out loud what you want to remember.*Organizing information – make it a habit to write things down in notebooks, date books, address books and calendars so you don’t forget important appointments and tasks.*Staying positive – never tell yourself you have a bad memory as it does hamper your brain’s ability to remember things.
