shower water filters

My friend and her husband just built a new house. The house took longer to finish because she and her husband had so many ideas and suggestions. When it was finally done, she invited us all for afternoon tea. She toured us around her lovely home. It was the first time I had seen her family. She told us that her two daughters had skin asthma or eczema, their skin was very sensitive so they had shower water filters. They were also allergic to commercial soaps, shampoos and lotions so they only used organic skin products.

I did not know that there were even shower water filters. I thought water filters were only for drinking water. But my friend told me that the water that comes out of our showers often contains chlorine and although this may not harm people in general, they irritate her daughters’ skin. Her daughters are not the first people I know who have skin asthma. I know my boss also suffers from skin asthma and his children inherited this from him. I did not realize that skin asthma was such a complicated condition.
